Handwriting Analysis: The Secrets to Understanding Victorian Penmanship

Every family historian knows the excitement we experience when we discover a new ancestor’s birth and death dates, where they lived, what they did for a living etc… But it often leaves us wishing we could have met them and gotten to know them. What were they like when they were alive? Were they short tempered like aunt Vera, or relaxed and easy going like Grampa? The study of Handwriting Analysis can bring those ancestors personalities to light.

This workshop will teach you the basics of assessing character through handwriting. In the process, you will learn that you already make judgments about people simply from their handwriting. Now you will understand the how and why. We will also look at the handwriting of a few infamous characters from history to show what their handwriting says about them.

One of the most frustrating parts of researching our ancestors is trying to decipher the penmanship of the census taker. Transcription errors can lead to some pretty bizarre name variation. In this workshop, Carol will also teach you how to look at writing like a puzzle and increase your ability to correctly read Victorian penmanship.
