Maya Hirschman began her tenure as Curator and Manager of the Secrets of Radar Museum, in London, Ontario, late in 2012. Previously, she was the Curator of Regional History at Museum London. She has worked in museums and galleries, big and small, across Canada, for well over 20 years. Always drawn to the lesser known and “unofficial” histories of minority populations and women, it is fitting that in curating a museum focused on the most written-about war in modern history, she ends up at the one telling the nearly unknown, but nonetheless stunningly important, story of the people involved in a secret technology war. Maya Hirschman regularly is an invited speaker to local service clubs (Rotary, Probus, Shriners, May Court) as well as at heritage fairs, aviation and military history organisations, and the occasional history or museums conference. As well as being a practicing museum curator, she is also a PhD student at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Information.
